The Animal School: A Fable Reading the stories of some of the animals I noticed that there were similarities in their outlook on school as it is in ours. For instance, in the story it says “Once upon a time the animals decided they must do something heroic to meet the problems of a “new world” so they organized a school.” I find this parallel in our world. Students go to school to further their education as well as make their way through the real world (a.k.a the new world in the story). Another similarity I found was when the story talked about the rabbit that started at the top of the class but then had a nervous breakdown. This sometimes happens in college with students when the pressure gets to high from classes or when the work gets to be too much, students tend to get worked up and stressed over the workload. When the story talked about the eel, being good in multiple areas such as flying, running, and swimming, this helped him to achieve his fullest potential as valedictorian. This brings up the point about how people can achieve so much when they have multiple qualities about themselves and are well-rounded individuals. Lastly, when the story talks about the remaining characters, the prairie dogs, the badger, and the ground hog, this shows that you can accomplish anything as long as you try your best.
College Education and Technology I think this was very interesting to read especially since technology is getting to be very well used in schools. It is quite interesting to think of the possibility of the future of education and how much it will change. It is very well possible that technology will be used more in the future than ever before. We use technology for both educational and social aspects. We use it a lot to complete projects for school, research, as well as a useful communication tool. Even though I can’t picture our world without technology, I also cannot picture life without real schools with real teachers. Even though content of subject material can be given to students, the most important aspect is not present, the relationship between students and their teachers or professors. Sure you can email or video chat, but you cannot form the personable relationship that is so important in life.
Honest Education Ad This Education Satire was humorous to watch. Everything that was said about the University that was portrayed on the commercial was not something that a normal commercial actually promoting a college would say. Some of the points they brought up though even though it was extreme, it could sometimes be true. For example, when the guy said his father is working three jobs to pay for his education at the university. Some parents do pay for their children’s education in college, they may not have three jobs, but it could happen. Also, there are some students who spend time partying in college (though it is not true for everyone) it can happen. It was neat to see this satire and how college could be portrayed on the most extreme level.
